Calloway County crash claims one life, another sent to hospital

A single-vehicle crash in Calloway County on Friday evening claimed the life of a Murray man and sent a passenger to the hospital.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. along Potterstown Road. The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office said a pickup driven by 41-year-old Zachary Rayburn ran off the road and struck a concrete culvert. Rayburn was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rayburn’s passenger, a juvenile, was flown to a Nashville hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
