A search for a wanted fugitive on Monday led to the arrest of two Mayfield men on drug charges.

Detectives with the Graves County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation with Probation at Parole at a residence on Jimtown Road regarding drug activity and a possible fugitive staying at the residence.

At the home, detectives made contact with the resident, 63-year-old Monty Burch as well as two other individuals. Fifty-one-year-old Shane Chapman and Teresa Reed reportedly consented to a search of the room they had stayed in for the night where detectives found four grams of methamphetamine, ecstasy pills, and drug parpahernalia.

Detectives also say they found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded 9mm handgun in Burch's bedroom.

Both Burch and Chapman are currently on parole and were arrested.

Burch is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Chapman is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
