The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources has set the dates for the annual drawings for season-long waterfowl blind sites.

The drawings for the seasonal sites in the Doug Travis wildlife management area, Lake Barkley, Barren River Lake, and Green River Lake give hunters time to build blinds and prepare for the season.

Those drawn will have first rights to the blind sites for the full season, but if they do not occupy those sites on any given day others may use them.

The drawing for Doug Travis WMA will be Saturday August 27th at 10 am at the WMA office near Berkley.

Then on September 19th they will draw for sites at Lake Barkley. The drawing will be at 8 am at a shelter near Barkley Dam at Lake City.

Drawings for Green River will be September 24th, while Barren River Lake will be October 1st.

To find more information on the requirements to be considered for the drawings, as well as other hunting opportunities in the wildlife management areas, go to the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife website at fw.ky.gov.
