The Paducah Police Department's drug unit arrested a fugitive on Thursday after an investigation into forged prescriptions.
Drug detectives received information that an individual was using forged prescriptions to obtain promethazine from local pharmacies. While conducting surveillance at a local pharmacy, detectives observed the suspect, Kameron Townsley, attempting to obtain the prescription. Townsley was arrested without incident.
Detectives learned Townsley was wanted in connection with an attempted murder investigation stemming from a 2020 shooting in the parking lot of a Walmart in Paoli, Indiana.
In addition to the Indiana warrant, Townsley was wanted on two outstanding Kentucky felony warrants that included charges of burglary, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, wanton endangerment, escape and theft.
Townsley was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
