A Mayfield man confessed Wednesday to burglarizing the Mayfield Electric and Water Services building on West Farthing Street, then setting fire to it.
Mayfield Police learned through its investigation 26-year-old Hunter Mitchum was the suspect. He was traced to a Taylor Drive residence.
Police said a search of the home found items stolen from the burglary. Mitchum then confessed to the burglary and fire.
He was charged with arson, theft by unlawful taking over $10,000, criminal mischief and 12 counts of fradulent use of a credit card.
Mitchum was lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
