A complaint of a suspicious vehicle Tuesday morning led to the arrest of an Eddyville man on several charges.

McCracken County deputies responded to Blair Road in Reidland and saw 34-year-old Jake Cowan sleeping in the back seat of the vehicle. They learned Cowan had a warrant for his arrest.

Deputies said Cowan resisted arrest and fled back into his vehicle. The deputy tried to use a taser and a struggle ensued. Cowan allegedly pulled out an electronic device of his own and attempted to tase the deputy before fleeing in his vehicle, then on foot in the Lakeside Road area.

Cowan was located in a storage facility on Benton Road. Deputies said there was another brief struggle before he was taken into custody.

After treatment at a local hospital, Cowan was served with an arrest warrant for probation violation. He was also charged with resisting arrest, assault, fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment and burglary.
