Confidence is increasing in much warmer temperatures returning for next week. Current guidance is pointing to at least a 50% chance at temperatures reaching 60 degrees by Feb 11-12.

By the way, it's less than a month till the start of meteorological spring (March, April, May). With chunks of ice flowing down our rivers, it may be hard to picture right now, but February historically means tornado season starts to ramp up across "Dixie Alley," including Tennessee, Kentucky and southern Illinois.

Sunrise is several minutes earlier each day, and  the sun angle begins to get noticeably higher in the sky which aids in daytime heating.

Every daily record high temperature for Paducah in February is over 70 degrees, and most are over 80 in March.
