A Paducah man was arrested on Friday after an investigation into catalytic converter thefts.

Paducah Police were called to the Easter Seals Center on North 14th Street last Wednesday after a catalytic converter was stolen off a vehicle. Officers opened an investigation into the theft and started looking for a suspect. The next day, police were summoned to a business off Park Avenue for another catalytic converter theft. As they continued to investigate, they determined that 42-year-old JeremiahW. Wood of Paducah could allegedly be linked to both cases.

Paducah Police and the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office worked together to locate Wood along H.C. Mathis Drive. They arrested Wood on a warrant for a pair of catalytic converter thefts out of Marshall County.

Detectives said Wood admitted to the two thefts in Paducah as well. He was charged with theft by unlawful taking and criminal mischief.

Wood was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
