A Tennessee man has been arrested following a pursuit from Marshall County that ended in Paducah.

A Marshall County Sheriff’s deputy was called to the Palma area after a report of a suspicious vehicle. The deputy found a man, later identified as 28-year-old Christopher Campbell, reportedly passed out behind the wheel of a pickup. Campbell was awakened, and it was reported that he appeared to be under the influence. Campbell would not follow orders to get out of the truck, instead he is sais to have backed up and hit the deputy with an open door.

Campbell then fled down US 68 westbound toward Paducah, reportedly running off the road and nearly hitting a bridge. He was also reportedly in the oncoming lane for a lot of the pursuit. Deputies said Campbell nearly hit a house before they tried a PIT maneuver on the truck. The vehicle pursuit terminated when Campbell crashed and struck a building off Wayne Sullivan Drive. Campbell bailed out of the truck but was captured after a short foot pursuit.

Campbell was arrested and charged by Paducah and McCracken County with receiving stolen property over $10,000 as the truck was reportedly stolen from Tennessee. He is facing additional charges of speeding, reckless driving, wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, and an unspecified drug, criminal mischief, resisting arrest, operating a motor vehicle under the influence, and operating a vehicle on a revoked or suspended license.

Additional charges from Marshall County are pending.
