A Tennessee man was arrested Saturday night and faces Paducah drug charges after climbing on rooftops to evade police.

Paducah Police said that 54-year-old Willie Ervin Hunter of Oak Ridge was riding a bicycle on Kentucky Avenue without any lights. Hunter fled from police. He was later spotted climbing a ladder to get to the roof of a building.

Police ordered Hunter to come back down to the ground, but he leaped to the roof of an adjacent building. He then jumped back down to the ground where police were waiting to arrest him.

A search of Hunter allegedly uncovered a pipe they said was the type used to smoke crack. They also reportedly found two rocks of crack on his person.

Hunter was treated and released at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital before being taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

Hunter was charged with fleeing or evading police and possession of cocaine.
