Two arrested on DUI charges following Saturday night accident

A single vehicle accident Saturday night led to the arrest of two people on DUI charges.

McCracken County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched around 7:16 pm to the 1300 block of Krebs Station Road for a report of a rollover collission.  The vehicle was found at rest on its roof off the south end of the roadway.

Multiple beer bottles and cans were located and scattered around the vehicle.The operator and passenger were found outside the vehicle and determined through investigation to be under the influence of alcohol.

Video footage provided showed the vehicle lost control on a hill before leaving the roadway and overturning. Witnesses on the scene observed the two occupants exit the vehicle and begin hiding alcohol behind the bushes on the property.

The alcoholic beverages located by deputies on the scene matched the brand of empty containers found inside the vehicle.

The operator and passenger were medically cleared, placed under arrest, and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.

The roadway was shutdown for approximately 1.5 hours for investigation and removal of the overturned vehicle.
