US 641 was restricted for about 16 hours in Calloway County after a box truck semi went off the side of a bridge early Saturday morning.

According to Calloway County Fire and Rescue, the crash happened just south of Murray on 641 near KY 2547 at around 4:30 a.m.

The semi went off the road, then over the guardrail and off the side of the bridge, and landed on its side, partially in the water below. The truck's box was broken open with its cargo spilled out.

When first responders arrived, the driver was already out of the truck. He was transported by EMS to an area hospital for minor injuries.

US 641 had two to four lanes closed at times for most of Saturday while environmental cleanup crews were on the scene.
