Ullin man arrested in alleged shooting

An Ullin, Illinois man has been arrested and charged in an alleged shooting.  

Wednesday night Illinois State Police joined Ullin Police in investigating a shooting on Kentucky Street in Ullin. Police reportedly located a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound along the roadway. 

Police identified 56-year-old Robert E. Nelson as a suspect. Nelson was located and arrested by Ullin Police and the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office on Thursday.

The Pulaski County State's Attorney charged Nelson with aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and reckless discharge of a firearm.

The investigation is still ongoing.
