A Murray man was sentenced Tuesday in connection with the death of an infant.
The Murray Sentinel reported Nathaniel Gibson received a 30 year sentence Tuesday after reaching a plea agreement in May in connection with the death of a 17-month old infant in October, 2023.
He also faced a first-degree child abuse charge which was dismissed pursuant to the plea agreement.
Gibson and his then-fiance Chyanne Niemeyer were arrested in October 2023 after taking Niemeyer’s 17-month-old daughter to the Murray-Calloway County Hospital emergency department with severe burns.
The child was later pronounced deceased.
