A warrant for theft has landed a Murray man in jail.

According to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, the alleged theft occurred on Tuesday in Kirksey, when 40-year-old Gregory A. Billington removed several lock boxes with valuables worth more than $1,000 inside. He is also said to have borrowed a vehicle, but did not return it. After an investigation, a warrant was issued, and deputies caught up with Billington on Wednesday.

Billington was arrested and charged with theft by unlawful taking over $1,000 and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. He was booked in the Calloway County Detention Center.
