Up to a million homes were without power during the peak of severe weather as it crossed the eastern half of the country from the Midwest to the Carolinas on Friday.

Michigan was hit the hardest, and as of Saturday morning still had nearly 150,000 homes without electricity.

Kentucky, in the bullseye of the most intense storms, still had 93,000 out of service. Those same storms started in Missouri, where 84,000 were still out Saturday, mostly in the St. Louis metro.

Ohio had 63,000 still without power, and Virginia had 46,000 out of service. Tennessee had more than 23,000 powerless.

In Kentucky, outages were heavy for the length of the southern border of the state. Local western Kentucky counties still reported these outages on Saturday morning:

Trigg:  1900
Christian: 1360
Marshall:  1269
Calloway:  1263
Lyon:   251
Graves:  246

In southern Illinois, Williamson County had 1100 out as of Saturday morning, and in Johnson County, 600 remained out.
