The Murray State women's squad dismantled winless Valparaiso 95-69 on Friday night at the CFSB Center.
Halli Poock led all scorers with 26 points, and Haven Ford provided 25 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. The Racers also saw double-double efforts from Sharnecce Currie-Jelks, who grabbed 13 rebounds to go with 15 points, and Keslyn Secrist, who tallied 15 points and 10 boards. It was Currie-Jelks' 17th double-double of the year.
Murray State (21-3, 12-1 MVC) broke the game open with a historic third-quarter performance, outscoring the Beacons 40-18 in the frame. The Racers shot a blistering 75% from the field and 64% from beyond the arc during that stretch, blowing the game open to a 31-point cushion heading into the fourth.
Valparaiso (0-25, 0-14 MVC) was led by Allia von Schlegell, who finished with 22 points, and Fiona Connolly, who added 13.
MSU's home win streak now sits at 17, the 6th-longest nationally.
In spite of their 12-1 conference mark, the Racers are just one game ahead of Belmont for the league lead.
Murray State hosts UIC on Sunday at 1 p.m., then travel to Peoria on Friday to face Bradley.
