Ole Miss basketball guard and Kentucky high school icon Travis Perry announced his decision Thursday to enter the NCAA transfer portal yet again.

Securing Perry from the University of Kentucky in the portal last season was considered a big win for Ole Miss. Now it's a major problem as the Rebels lose the best pure shooter on their roster.

As a sophomore, Perry led the team by making 48 three-pointers and 88% of his free throws while playing 16 minutes per game.

His performance in Rebels' 76-72 win over Georgia in the SEC Tournament showed Perry in his best light. The Eddyville native hit four of his nine three-point shots and scored 16 points.

Posts on some UK fan sites are already asking for a Travis Perry reunion with the Wildcats. Just for reference, the other schools that courted Perry out of high school were Alabama, Cincinnati and Western Kentucky. He also visited Purdue and Michigan.

The transfer portal has upended traditional stability for coaches in securing their rosters from year to year. Perry is one of over 2,000 other young men in the basketball portal for next season.
