Graves County Middle School administrator Wes Johnson has been named the new director of human resources for Graves County Schools.
According to a press release, Johnson will delay his move to the school district’s central office so he can continue to fulfill his current duties at GCMS.
Johnson graduated from Brescia University in 2005 and began his teaching career at Hopkins County Central High School. He then taught social studies at Graves County Middle School for eight years, before taking a position in administration. Johnson also coached various seventh and eighth grade boys basketball teams for ten years, and this summer began his fifth year as in-school detention coordinator and third year as athletic director.
He went on to earn a master’s degree in special education at Murray State University, and recently completed an education specialist degree with school principal emphasis from the University of the Cumberlands.
