The McCracken County Public Library hosts its 101 series an sparks interest in a wide range of unique topics. Programs are free and open to the public and are led by experts in their fields.
Magic 101
Thursday, May 3, 7 - 8 pm
Presented by Todd Duff ,founder and CEO of Innovations Branding House, a nationally acclaimed, award winning marketing firm in Paducah, Kentucky. Magic 101 will cover a variety of topics within the art of sleight of hand including history, performance, visual arts and the psychology of magic. Drawing volunteers from the audience, everyone will be amazed and astounded in this fascinating presentation.

Historic Preservation 101
Thursday, June 7, 7 - 8 pm
Presented by Chris Black, president of Ray Black & Son.
In this presentation Black will discuss the background of historic preservation in Paducah and its role in community development.

City Government 101
Thursday, July 12, 7 - 8 pm
Presented by Mayor Brandi Harless and Assistant to the City Manager Michelle Smolen
Join Mayor Harless and Smolen in a discussion about the inner workings of your local government and to learn about opportunities to get involved.
                   
Rock Climbing 101
Tuesday, July 31, 7 - 8 pm
With Mike Gowen, certified climbing instructor
Mike Gowen has been teaching and leading adventure trips for 20 years. He is a lecturer in Murray State’s Dept. of Community Leadership & Human Services. Mike has traveled the United States in pursuit of adventure. He is a certified climbing instructor, Leave No Trace Master Educator and wilderness first aid instructor.
