McCracken County High School students Mckenzie Moss, Henrietta Ransdell, and Hannah White were named among the finalists for the Future Problem Solving (FPS) Scenario Writing competition, as announced Friday morning by the Kentucky Association for Academic Competition (KAAC).
Scenario Writing, a component competition for Future Problem Solving Program International (FPSPI) and KAAC, helps to encourage futuristic thinking as students create images of the future.
A scenario is a short story in which one possible outcome of the future is developed through character(s) and a plot.
The scenarios are predictions of the future and are written as though the future was in the present.
Moss, Ransdell, and White will not know their actual placement until March 16 at the KAAC State Finals' awards ceremony.
For now, they are in the top 5 in the Commonwealth with the top 3 receiving an invitation to the International competition in Ames, Iowa in June.
