BBQ on the River applications available next week

Organizers for Paducah's 30th Barbecue on the River said Monday that applications for the event will be available next week.

Beautiful Paducah said the event will be held September 19 through 21.

Beginning Wednesday, April 24, BBQ on the River will accept applications for vendors and musicians. The applications will be posted at www.bbqpaducah.com .

Beautiful Paducah Executive Director Whitney Ravellette Wallace thanked this year's participants for being patient as organizers "work through the layout and logistics of this year’s festival.”

In the past few years, the festival has seen a move to a new location on the river as well as new features and menu offerings. The emphasis is still on fundraising for local charities. In the past two years, BBQ on the River has raised more than $700,000 for nonprofits.
