A 44-year-old Benton woman has been accused of fraudulently using the credit card of a woman in her care.

Marshall County Sheriff's deputies were alerted that a caregiver had possibly obtained the credit card information from a patient and had used it. After an investigation, deputies believe the fraudulent charges on the woman's card were purchases made by Dana Thomas of Benton. Thomas has been indicted on charges of fraudulent use of a credit card over $500 but less than $1000, knowingly exploiting an adult by a person over $300, and tampering with physical evidence.

Thomas was out on bail when the charges were allegedly made. She had been sentenced to five years in prison after being convicted on charges of criminal possession of a forged instrument, attempted possession of a forged instrument, and one count of fraudulent use of a credit card.

Thomas was arrested on Friday and taken to the Marshall County Detention Center.
