The McCracken County Sheriff's Office reports that both westbound lanes of Interstate 24 are clear after a collision and diesel fuel spill

The interstate was blocked  at 11 a.m. near the 9 mile marker, east of the Husbands Road exit.

The sheriff’s office reports that a passenger vehicle was trying to re-enter the highway from the right shoulder. The driver pulled into the path of a pickup truck that was hauling a long trailer.

The truck, driven by 45-year-old Jared Huskey of Clarksville, Tennessee, slowed down to avoid striking the passenger vehicle. However, a semi-truck driven by 25-year-old Shatora Baylor of Shreveport, Louisiana, hit Huskey’s truck.

Both vehicles came to rest blocking both westbound lanes. The passenger vehicle was not struck.

Traffic was blocked for about two hours until I-24 was cleared about 12:30 p.m.
