Graves Sheriff creates secure meeting location for internet sales

Internet and social media sales transactions that require an in-person meeting with an unknown buyer or seller are increasing, and the Graves County Sheriff's Office has established a location just for those transactions.

The location is in front of the Graves County Sheriff's Office, within feet of the front entrance. The location is marked with special signage and has 24-hour video surveillance.

It's available for public use anytime day or night. In addition, law enforcement officers are usually present during business hours, and from time to time during nights and weekends.

The secure meeting location will help bring peace of mind to those meeting a stranger for a business transaction.

The Sheriff's Office reminds residents that if a buyer or seller seems reluctant to meet at this location to do business, it should be a good indicator not to conduct the transaction at all.
