A Hazel man was arrested Tuesday in Princeton after allegedly trying to steal items from a store.

According to WPKY, Princeton Police were called Tuesday afternoon to Falder's Supply after a Calloway County man was caught hiding items to avoid being charged for them. The man, 48-year-old John Thomure of Hazel, was arrested in the parking lot of the store after it was found that he had apparently stashed items from the store inside a mailbox he was buying.

The store was able to retrieve the stolen items. Thomure was arrested and charged with shoplifting over $1,000. He was taken to the Caldwell County Jail.
