A head-on crash along Blandville Road on Friday morning claimed the life of a Concord Firefighter.

McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies were called about 5:25 a.m. Friday to Blandville Road, just past Fisher Road, for the crash involving a car and an SUV. Investigators said that 47-year-old Christopher Martin of Kevil collided with an oncoming car driven by 35-year-old Kameron Bristoe of Paducah.

Bristoe, a firefighter with the Concord Fire Department, was pronounced dead at the scene by McCracken County Coroner Amanda Melton.

Martin was taken to a local hospital, but was then transferred to an out-of-state hospital to be treated for serious injuries.

Concord Fire was one of the responding agencies to the crash, along with Lone Oak Fire, West McCracken Fire, McCracken County DES, Mercy Regional Ambulance, and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
