KY 58 in Graves County reopened Monday between KY 131 and Byrd Road after the removal of the jet that ran off the runway of the Mayfield-Graves County Airport.
The Graves County Sheriff's office said they originally thought the removal would take most of the day, however crews completed the task before noon.
On Thursday, the jet ran off the runway, went through a fence, crossed the roadway, before colliding with a residence on the south side of Kentucky 58. No one was injured.
The damaged jet will be turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, who will continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident, such as pilot error or a mechanical failure.
Meanwhile, an environmental crew will clean up jet fuel, and insurance companies will determine the extent of damage to the home.
