A juvenile was jailed Thursday night after a high-speed multi-county pursuit.

A McCracken County Sheriff's deputy spotted a speeding vehicle without headlights along Benton Road in the Reidland area. When he tried to stop the vehicle, the driver fled to US 68, then US 62 toward Marshall County.

Deputies said the 17-year-old male was throwing beer cans out the window as he sped toward Calvert City. That's where Marshall County Sheriff's deputies joined the pursuit.

The driver led deputies through the Calvert City area before stopping near Kentucky Dam.

The teen was arrested and charged with speeding, reckless driving, fleeing or evading police, wanton endangerment, criminal littering, and a host of traffic violations. He was taken to the McCracken County Regional Juvenile Detention Facility.

His female passenger was not charged.
