Two rebuilt state route bridges opened in western Kentucky last week.
KY 1282 in Fulton County reopened with the completion of the Owens Slough bridge southwest of Hickman, between KY 311 and KY 925.
The bridge was closed almost a year ago in early February as the result of substructure deterioration.
Construction cost of the new bridge was $425,000.
On Friday a new bridge opened over Terrapin Creek on Bellville Road in southern Graves County, two miles north of the Tennessee state line.
KY 1485 was closed in April of 2024 after an inspection team determined the substructure had deteriorated. Construction of the new bridge started in October 2025.
The bridge had previously been restricted to a 3-ton load limit. The new bridge is designed to carry legal loads of up to 80,000 pounds.
The new bridge was constructed by Jim Smith Contracting under a $730,773 KYTC highway improvement contract.
