Man on road in Marshall County charged with car theft

A man was arrested Friday morning in Marshall County and a stolen car was recovered..

Around 6 am, the Marshall County Sheriff's Office received a call about a man covered in mud standing in the roadway on Moors Camp Highway.

The man told deputies that he had gotten his rental car stuck, however they determined the car had been stolen from Lexington, and the man was not who he said he was initally.

Deputies went to a Daniels Drive residence to arrest 30-year-old Alex Nelson.  Nelson tried to resist arrest and fled on foot, but was quickly apprehended.

Nelson is charged with fleeing and evading police, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and receiving stolen property $10,000 or more.
