A McCracken County man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted of trafficking in illegal drugs.
The sentencing of 41-year-old Jura Dailey came at the end of a two-day jury trial that wrapped up on Tuesday. The case, prosecuted by the Commonwealth’s Attorney, dates back to a two-month investigation in 2023, when detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office found Dailey allegedly in possession of over a pound of methamphetamine, plus cocaine, marijuana, guns, and cash. Dailey was convicted of firearm-enhanced trafficking in methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana,
McCracken County Sheriff Ryan Norman said, “This conviction makes it clear McCracken County is not a place where drug traffickers can operate without consequences. We will continue to work tirelessly to identify, investigate, and bring offenders to justice.”
Because of Dailey’s prior convictions and firearms being involved, he will have to serve at least 20 years before becoming eligible for probation or parole.
