Animal Shelter's 'Downtown Dogs' Saturday Evening
By WestKyStar Staff
PADUCAH, KY - The volunteers at the McCracken County Animal Shelter are closing out the summer by hosting one more “Downtown Dogs” adoption event on Aug. 18.

To welcome one of downtown's newest businesses, and its only health club, “Downtown Dogs” will be held from 6 pm to 10 pm Saturday at Mike's Kettlebell Club, 106 Broadway, next to D.Starnes Restaurant.

To celebrate the success of “Downtown Dogs,” Paws 4 a Cause is also hosting a party. There will be snacks, raffles, and, of course, plenty of our cute furry friends to provide entertainment. Andy the Armadillo will be visiting from Texas Roadhouse, bringing with him snacks donated by the restaurant. Baskets of gift cards and merchandise donated by local merchants will also be raffled. Proceeds from the raffle will help provide medical care for the shelter dogs.

The dogs will be spruced up and ready to find their forever homes. Adoption fees are $30 for unneutered and $50 for neutered dogs. If you want to take a sneak peek at the pets available for adoption, visit Paws 4 a Cause Paducah or the McCracken County Shelter on Facebook.

You don't have to wait until Saturday night to adopt a dog. The McCracken County Shelter is open Monday through Saturday, from 9 am to 3 pm. Almost 100 dogs of all shapes, sizes and breeds – even some pure breeds – are waiting for a new home. The shelter is located at 455 County Park Rd.
