One more person has tested positive for the novel coronavirus in McCracken County.

A Thursday press release from the Purchase District Health Department says a 42-year-old woman tested positive for the virus on Wednesday. She is self-quarantined at home and is in stable condition.

The health department is checking into others who may have been in contact with the woman and notify them of possible exposure.

This make twelve cases of COVID-19 in McCracken County since March 23.

Kent Koster with PDHP says social distancing, frequent hand washing and other recommendations from the CDC are essential in protecting yourself and others from the spread of the virus.

Symptoms of COVID-19 may include fever, cough or shortness of breath.  Anyone who is experiencing symptoms should first contact their primary care medical provider.
