Natural gas company Atmos Energy is reporting an outage of gas service to some of its Paducah customers.

The outage affects approximately 194 customers, mostly in a 20-block area from near Parkview Nursing Home, south to Brierwood Drive and Oak Street.

"At this point, the primary concern is to restore our customers as soon as possible," Craig Rice, Operations Manager said, also adding, "The safety and reliability of our system is always our number one priority."

This situation does not pose any safety risk to any customers.

Work crews are on site and will work until restoration is completed. Atmos Energy will need to enter the house to relight and cycle all natural gas appliances. If a customer is not home, they will tag the front door of the residence with contact information.

Please remember if you smell gas, leave the area and then call 1-866-322-8667.
