PADUCAH, KY - A Ballard County man has been charged with having sexual relations with a minor.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department says deputies received a complaint on June 5 alleging that 27-year-old Casey Ringstaff of Ballard County had sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old girl.  Detectives arrested Ringstaff June 9 on a charge of third degree rape.

Detectives said their investigation revealed Ringstaff picked up three female juveniles at a local business in McCracken County and took them to a warehouse that belonged to his employer. While at the warehouse, Ringstaff allegedly had sex with one of the girls.

Ringstaff reportedly confessed to having sex with the girl and claimed he did not know her age. He also claimed to have just met her. Authorities later learned Ringstaff was acquainted with the victim’s family and was familiar with her age.

Deputies said more charges are pending.
