On Sunday night, a contractor started installation of a median barrier wall along US 60 near the I-24 Paducah Exit 4 interchange.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said the barrier installation is part of construction of the planned double crossover diamond interchange.

Installation of the barrier wall is expected to take about two nights to complete. Once the median barrier is in place, left turns will only be allowed at intersections with signals. While the work zone is ongoing, there will be no left turn from eastbound US 60 to New Holt Road northbound into the mall area.

Initially, the contractor will work mainly at night to help minimize traffic disruptions, but some daytime and weekend work may also be required.
