Governor Matt Bevin met with other elected officials and leadership from Barkley Regional Airport on Wednesday.

Bevin visited the airport to discuss their new terminal project. According to the airport's Facebook page, Bevin expressed his support for the project and said the state would "do what it can to make it happen."

He complimented the size and quality of the airfield, saying other airports can't offer the opportunities for growth that exist here.

Bevin said new terminal would make a better first impression to businesses that might locate in Paducah, and believes it is the next step in what he sees as a “tremendous future for this part of the state.”

Others attending the meeting included Paducah Mayor Brandi Harless, McCracken County Judge Executive Craig Clymer, State Representative Randy Bridges, and Paducah Chamber of Commerce CEO and City Commissioner Sandra Wilson. Airport leadership also participated, including new Executive Director Dennis Rouleau.
