Boy Scout Troop is busy today. They are all around town displaying and saluting Old Glory on this Memorial Day.

Justin Baker, along with several other Boy Scouts in Troop 1, is out at sunrise placing and saluting the American flags he and his Dad, Troop Master John Baker, are delivering throughout the community. The flag program is part of the troop's U.S. Flag Holiday Fundraiser.

Over one hundred homes have signed up to be part of the Boy Scouts' project that places an American flag in front yards at sunrise and retrieves at sunset on six national holidays: President's Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, Labor Day and Veterans Day. Troop 1 Boy Scouts display a 3’x5’ American flag on a 10’ pole that is placed in a pvc sleeve that is placed ahead of time in the ground, usually at the end of sidewalks near the roadway.

Go to www.troop1paducah.com  to lean more and/or sign up to be part of the project and support Troop 1 or email: eyedude3@msn.com. 100% of  proceeds support Boy Scout activities.
