The dismal weather of the past few days gave way to sunlight just in time Saturday for the 2014 Corvettes on the River Charity Car show on the Paducah riverfront.

Anyone in downtown Paducah Saturday got to see and sometimes hear some real American horsepower, as over 100 examples of the "Thoroughbred of Sports Cars" were shined up and in full view. The display included members of local Corvette clubs, and 'vette enthusiasts from Kentucky, Tennesee, Indiana, Illinois, and Louisiana.

The car show, the largest annual event of the Four Rivers Corvette Club, benefitted Cassidy's Cause, a non-profit organization that strives to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to grow and develop through therapeutic experiences on horses.

The show featured a wide variety of shapes, sizes and colors of the Kentucky-made cars, including some from every decade from the 60's all the way through to the new 2014 Corvette Stingray C7. There was even one 2015 model.

Some of the coolest parts of any corvette show include the paint colors on some of the cars which include torch red, laguna blue, and atomic orange. And there are the many vanity license plates that included  SHE OKD, HOLD ON, TORQUE, WA2FAST, and BLKVET.
