Four Paducah residents were hurt Saturday evening in a crash involving an ambulance.

The Paducah Police Department said 25-year-old Adam Miller of Murray was traveling east on Jackson Street shortly before 8 p.m. in a Mayfield Fire Department Ambulance with his lights and siren activated. Miller reportedly used his air horn in addition to the lights and siren to clear the intersection, since he had a red light. At that same time, another vehicle driven by 76-year-old John Young was traveling south on South 28th Street. Young reportedly had a green light, and did not see or hear the ambulance as he entered the intersection.

Young and his passengers 71-year-old Geneva Young, 40-year-old Kenneth Caldwell and 38-year-old Kyle Young, All of Paducah were taken to hospitals for treatment. Geneva Young was later flown to a Nashville Hospital.

No injuries were reported to anyone in the ambulance.

The Paducah Police Department’s Collision Reconstruction Team is continuing the investigation into the crash.
