The McCracken County Sheriff is praising one of his deputies for her quick response that may have saved a life.

Sheriff Matt Carter says Deputy Lindsey Miller responded to a home on College Avenue about 9 pm Wednesday for a reported drug overdose. When she arrived, Miller reportedly found a person unconscious, so she placed them in the recovery position and began administering Narcan, which can reverse an opioid overdose.

After several doses, the overdose victim regained consciousness. Miller stayed by the victim's side until an ambulance arrived, and she was also able to calm family members who were on the scene.

Sheriff Carter said, "Deputy Miller’s compassionate and professional response likely saved this individual's life. This is one of numerous examples that take place within our community by the dedicated and relentless efforts of those serving at the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office. I believe events like this should be recognized."
