A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family of a woman from Paducah who was hit by a truck last week while riding her bicycle on a New York City street.

Media reports indicate 25-year-old Aurilla Lawrence, who worked as a bike courier in the city, was hit by a tanker truck Thursday night while riding her bike on Broadway. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck reportedly drove away, and has not been identified.

The GoFundMe page describes Lawrence as a beautiful free spirit, who touched many lives. The Gothamist reports that hundreds of people participated in a memorial bike ride and service on Monday in Lawrence's honor.

All donations will go toward Lawrence's funeral and other final expenses. Anything raised in excess of the final expenses will be donated to the Transportation Alternatives charity in New York, whose stated mission is to achieve no serious injuries or deaths from the city's busy traffic.
