According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, deputies responded to the scene at 2:10 am Friday morning.
Deputies were advised that a semi-tractor trailer had been involved, did not stop. That information was relayed to the Ballard County Sheriff’s Office, so they could assist in locating the vehicle.
A Ballard County Deputy observed the tractor trailer traveling on Highway 286, and was able to stop the vehicle.
The driver was identified as 49-year-old Robolfo Cordoba, of Mexico.
An investigation showed that Cordoba was traveling North on Gholson Road and made a left turn onto Blandville Road, pulling into the path of a vehicle driven by 27-year-old Steven Patterson, of Arlington. Patterson was unable to avoid the collision, and struck the side of the trailer. Cordoba failed to stop and left the scene.
Patterson, along with his passenger, 36-year-old Michael Jones, of LaCenter, were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
Cordoba was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail. He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to render aid or assistance.
