A Melber man was arrested early Sunday morning in McCracken County after police say he was found passed out behind the wheel in the middle of an intersection.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded shortly before 5 a.m. to a report of a man passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in the area of Old Calvert City Road and Culp Road.

Deputies arrived to find a vehicle sitting in the intersection, and 31-year-old Derrek Dickson of Melber passed out in the driver's seat. The investigation reportedly showed Dickson was under the influence of drugs. A search of the car revealed several bags of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine, pills and cash deputies say they believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.

Dickson was booked into McCracken County Jail on charges of DUI, trafficking in marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance.
