Empty Bowls Project Events Scheduled for 2019

The volunteer teams are busy getting ready for the annual Empty Bowls Project in Paducah.

Events like the one in Paducah take place in about 400 communities around the world. Local proceeds from the event on February 23 will once again benefit the Community Kitchen, which provides more than 70,000 meals a year (along with other services) for our most vulnerable populations.  

Several opportunities to volunteer, engage or donate are coming soon, including:
 
• The annual “Throwathon” on Tuesday, January 22, from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at the Paducah School of Art & Design on the corner of Madison & 9th Streets. Anyone 12 and older can help make bowls.
 
• In the next step in the process, anyone 12 and older can attend the “Glazeathon” on February 12 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm, also at the Paducah School of Art & Design.

• The 2019 Empty Bowls Project event on February 23 from 11:30 am – 2:00 pm at the Julian Carrol Convention Center. Tickets can be purchased for $18. Each ticket allows you to choose your own handmade bowl and have it filled by the local restaurants who participate. Each ticket holder goes home with a bowl, a great lunch and a good feeling.

The Empty Bowls Project is always accepting donations to offset expenses, and is a project of GPSP, a registered 501(c)3 organization, so any donations are tax deductible.
