The former executive director of the Paducah-McCracken County Convention Center and a vendor have pleaded guilty to embezzling some $200,000.

The U.S. attorney's office says 43-year-old J. Patrick Kerr Jr., the center's executive director, and 52-year-old Susan H. Wilson of Paducah pleaded guilty Friday in federal court in Owensboro.

Prosecutors say Kerr allegedly created fraudulent invoices on his work computer, payable to Wilson for advertising services, then issued Wilson fraudulent business checks on the center. Kerr and Wilson allegedly split the proceeds.

They pleaded guilty to theft and embezzlement of property, prosecutors said.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 8 in Paducah.
