The McCracken County Fiscal Court discussed the McKendree Church Road-KY 286 intersection at their meeting on Monday evening.

The western McCracken County intersection has been the scene of recent fatal crashes. The subject was brought up by a family member of one of the victims. The court acknowledged that additional safety measures have been added by the State of Kentucky, since both roads are State highways. Larger stop signs and rumble strips have been added according to the McCracken County Road Department.

The court said they would be in contact with the State to see what, if any, additional measures can be taken to make the intersection safer.

In other business, the court heard discussion concerning energy solutions, the LOTUS campus project, and also approved the 2nd reading of Budget Amendment 2019-1. They ordered cash transfers to pay county bills approved January 28, 2019 in the amount of $57,040.68, and approved the vouchers claims register from January 14th to January 28th to show county bills in the amount of $104,474.65 were paid.

The court also approved 14 orders and reappointed Gregory Yates to the Carson Park Board, with his new term expiring in 2023.

The next scheduled meeting for the Fiscal Court will be February 11th at 5:00 pm.
