Former McCracken High AD Under Investigation

An employee of McCracken County Schools is under investigation for possible inappropriate conduct.

According to a press release from the McCracken County Sheriff, the department was contacted January 15 by the school district, and are investigating the former McCracken County High School Athletic Director. While the press release didn't name the faculty member, West Kentucky Star has identified him as Kris Garrett. 

The sheriff says there were allegations of inappropriate electronic communications between the faculty member and a student. 

As of Wednesday, Sheriff Carter says their investigation is continuing, but has not yet uncovered any evidence that confirms or denies the allegations.

A statement received by the school district Wednesday evening says they contacted the Sheriff when they learned of the possible inappropriate conduct and are fully cooperating with the investigation. The press release says the employee, whom they did not name, has not had access to school property since January 15 and resigned on February 5.
