A former teacher at McCracken County High School made his first appearance in court Thursday.

Daniel Edwards, who taught math at the school, entered a not guilty plea to a charge of harassing communications in McCracken District Court.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department started investigating Edwards after a complaint from a student on February 6. Detectives say while investigating that case, they also found evidence that Edwards allegedly asked a former student for nude pictures last summer.

A court clerk said Edwards is scheduled to appear in court again on March 21.
